Siku 6213 Bugatti sets from Siku
Since 2014, Siku has been releasing two sets each year, each with three fantastic versions of the Bugatti Veyron. Such a set consists of 2 closed Veyron models and a convertible version as standard. They are painted in a different colour variation and often one model has custom rims. The sets have article number 6213. According to a very well-informed source, this year will also be the last time that such a set will be released. So enough reason to make an overview of it.
2014, a nice surprise!
Sets 1 and 2 were released in 2014, it was striking that the first (left model) had a standard colour scheme. The brown-black version had already been released in a blister and sold separately. But very surprising at the time was the convertible, which has only been released in a metallic blue colour to date. A completely red edition with custom rims with red striping. The third model in this set was a metallic blue with white sides.
Set two came out a little less than half a year later and was an even bigger surprise, because Siku is generally not very generous with striping on its models, but the left model has a few lightning bolts on the metallic blue-black color scheme. In the middle again the well-known convertible, but in a reasonably successful color scheme, reasonable because there should actually be a gradual transition from orange to black, but it suddenly stops. The idea is very good. This can also be found in the front rims, which differ from the rear ones. Third model is again a metallic brown-gray color variant.
Bugatti sets 2015
Sets 3 and 4 both came out in 2015. Again in the 2 closed + 1 convertible composition. Without crazy striping, but with a convertible with modified rims.
2016, the (probably) last year of the sets!
In July, the 5th set was released. And the nice thing about this one is that a so-called tribal has been applied to the first model. I have seen more prototypes where this striping has also been applied, and it seems that next year Siku will switch to applying tribals to standard models. That is not 100% certain yet, but the chance is big. I will write a piece about that soon with examples of models with tribals and two-tone cars. The Bugatti on the right does not have a tribal, but is equipped with light blue rims. A real must-have for collectors!
It is not yet known what the final set will bring, but it is expected to be released in December.
