Siku 1454 Mini Cooper S Countryman (The Italian Job)
It looks a bit like the movie 'The Italian Job'! With the difference that a cream-white Mini drove around instead of a green one. And yes, the purists among you, these are 3 models of the Mini Countryman. But it comes pretty close.
This is a set of 3 models of the Mini Cooper S Countryman with article number 1454. All three have a metallic paint with increasing serial numbers on the base plate.
To be honest, I have no idea what the purpose of these models is, they could be so-called pre-series models to look at new colors for the coming period. But it could also be a one-off edition for a promotional campaign of a company. Time will hopefully tell. Furthermore, it is striking that the rims are the latest B47 versions and that they are therefore the closed versions. Which means that they can be at most a year old, because that is when these rims were released. But the printing on the bottom plate is also relatively new, so based on that it is almost safe to say that they can be at most half a year old.
The yellow (top) is the color that has been on the market since the beginning. The model was introduced in 2013 by Siku and only has the variant that a different type of rims has been added (B47a and B47b) and even that last type of rims is still quite rare. These three brightly colored friends already have these rims as described. Another detail that immediately stands out is that the door handles are painted silver, but that the indicators diagonally above the front wheels are not printed.
The base plate has also been adjusted, of course all Siku models are now provided with a flat rectangle on which the batch number and version number are stated. What I can conclude from this is that the Mini Cooper Countyman will not be removed from the Siku range in the near future. Because why then put time and energy into the models if it does not have much time left?!?
