Siku 1082 Mercedes Sprinter Rescue, the forgotten model

Sometimes Siku has nice surprises that are not announced. For example, we already had the VIP sets earlier this year and sometimes models have been announced that will only be released a year later, or even never released at all. But this year they have hidden a nice version between the regular models in the catalogue that was almost not noticed! I suddenly saw it on an order list from the factory and I really looked at the 2015 catalogue first, that I might have overlooked it, but it was definitely not in there. And it is in the 2016 catalogue, but without the icon with the letter N for Neuheit (new model). It is about the Mercedes Sprinter Rescue with article number 1082.

A simple, but certainly not an ugly model that fits in the range, the Police already has a similar model with number 804 and the 805 goes through life as the ambulance version. Now the fire brigade also has a crew bus. But what the reason was to include it so quietly in the range is a mystery to me. Also because it got its own number, and is therefore not intended as a color variant.
