Siku 3547 Mercedes-Benz Zetros with loading platform and tarpaulin
The collector who is older than 30 years will probably recognize something in this Mercedes Zetros with loading platform. Until the mid-80s, the legendary Volvo 10 and 12 were released with an identical loading platform and hood.
The classic Volvo 12 with loading platform
Literally thousands of these were made, and you can still find them in reasonable quantities at fairs. There were always a few problems with this model. The biggest one was that the cams on the hood would break off quickly. Very annoying because the hood would not stay in place properly. Another problem with the old version is that the rear bumper with lighting would also always break off with the slightest touch. Even in the packaging it could break. But..... Siku has found a solution for both problems. And it can even be called brilliant! They made the hood from soft silicone!
This hood can easily survive a fall, and it will not break in the future either. Let's hope that they will not dissolve themselves after a few years due to (possible) plasticizers. Furthermore, the model stands out because the Zetros has a tough and robust appearance. The usual rubber tires with profile fit in perfectly, it almost looks like a Russian truck. What I actually miss is that the hood cannot be opened. Which was possible with the classic Volvo, not exciting in itself, but it is just that little extra that can make the model even more fun. But on the other hand, the loading platform can be tipped completely!

By: Jan Clevering On 07/20/2015Kamaz gebruikt de Zetros-cabine ook, dus je commentaar over Russische vrachtwagens is niet eens zo gek
