Siku 4066 Krone Big X Corn chopper
In September the Krone Big X 580 will be released. A big giant with a 580 hp Mercedes engine in the hood, which is used for both corn and grass. We were lent this to have a look and to show what comes out. Unfortunately, the enormous packaging does not include a grass pickup, which you would actually expect to make it complete. This was also the case with previous Siku models, that only one type of beak/pickup is included. And I hope that this will finally be sold separately, the ROS model is more complete in that respect.
As we are used to from Siku with the large harvesters, there is a lot of attention to detail and the hoods can be opened so that you can see the engine. But the detailing on the outside is not really continued on the inside, the engine is not exciting. ROS would have seen and executed that much better. Can you compare so much with the ROS? No, of course not! The price is at least one and a half times as much and Siku has the devil's dilemma to keep the fun of playing in mind while the ROS models are mainly made for collectors. The printing is good in any case, up to and including the license plate and the color scheme is also correct.
The cabin is reasonable, but it does remind a bit too much of plastic. Also as a result of the sturdiness, and that is exactly where Siku loses out to its competitors. Just like the detailing of the corn header. Especially because that is the first thing you see on such a model. All in all a decent model for a reasonable price, nice and heavy and lots of possibilities (extra is the steering on the hood!) and it is very sturdily built. For a collector who does not want to spend too much on a nice Krone chopper this is certainly an alternative. And for the children who want to play with such a model this is fantastic! Wait until September, and then it will be for sale at ToyCarDealer.com
